The Newsletter: Laboratory Animal Welfare Compliance (LAWC) is a monthly subscription newsletter published by Principal Investigators Association (a nonprofit corporation) in partnership with Research Resources Inc.
Editorial Stance: Like its sister publication, Principal Investigator Advisor, LAWC is independent. It is not affiliated government agency or vendor. It is funded mainly through monthly subscriptions.
The publication is intended to help principal investigators (PIs) who oversee research involving laboratory animals assure their compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards pertaining to the animals' care and use. Other scientists concerned with laboratory-animal welfare, including members of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees, along with veterinarians and institution officials, also will find the information in LAWC useful and practical.
Content aids in interpreting and implementing in a wide range of laboratory settings. Expert comment is also provided on ethical dilemmas. Numerous "how-to" articles are provided, along with case histories, best practices, and expert advice common challenges. A distinguished, editorial advisory board serves as a resource for the editor, answering questions and suggesting topics and interviews.
